Honestly, it's the same game everywhere. If it isn't a person who is actually homeless or has some sort of disability, or both, then it's a scam that is run often in the US.

"Hey buddy I just need some money for the bus to get back home." Ok then how the hell did you get here to begin with? "We're short just a few dollars to get a motel room for the night." Yes because you are in one of the most affluent business districts of the Dallas area looking for a cheap motel and the Intercontinental isn't that. "My baby needs diapers so do you have any change?" Proceeds to go 5 feet away and continue using the change he has to wash his car. Better yet, the ones who stole or adopted a dog to use as a prop.

I get that people are legitimately homeless or poor, but a begpacker would drive me nuts too.
